Do you eat a lot of meat? Do you drink a lot of coffee? Do you drink a lot of alcohol? If so, you are putting yourself at risk of getting osteoporosis. This disease effects 25 million Americans (men and women).

This debilitating disease is a result of an excessive loss of bone density. When you reach the average age of 25 years of age, you cease to gain bone density. Around the age of 35, it is normal for you to lose the density approximately 1% per year (2%-3% after menopause). Excessive loss results in brittle bones, increasing your chance of bone fracture and shrinkage. Many factors such as exercise, menopause, prescription drugs contribute to bone loss.
